Workshop: Business Excellence with SAP - How to Develop & Sustain Your SAP Center of Excellence
All attendees will receive a signed copy of The SAP Green Book, Thrive After Go-Live which provides deep background relative to Centers of Excellence. We also provide a CD of all presentation material, relevant white papers, and more.
This workshop will cover:
The history, evolution, and justification of Center of Excellences, Center of Excellence Domains & Composition, SAP Maturity Model & Assessment, Center of Excellence Governance, Best Practices and The Bridge Method for Building a Center of Excellence.
Center of Excellence Composition
A Center of Excellence is as unique as the company it supports. While differentiators exist to achieve your unique goals and size, all Centers of Excellence are built on a foundation of domains. In this section you will learn about the four Center of Excellence domains, the Roles and Responsibilities of Center of Excellence staff, and the importance of the Run SAP Methodology.
Striking the balance between skilled staff and low cost is a constant challenge for every Center of Excellence leader. In this section you will learn how to properly staff your Center of Excellence while controlling costs. You will understand how to attack your staffing challenge strategically and how to effectively partner with, and govern, service providers.
An ancient Chinese proverb states that "The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step." The initial assessment is your first step. In this section you will learn about the Center of Excellence Maturity Model. You will further learn how to assess our own SAP Maturity. This will help you in your planning as well as your ongoing improvement process.
Very often, once an SAP implementation goes live, there is an exodus of the development team who go back to their “real jobs”. More times than not, they will find those real jobs have dramatically altered. By preparing for this with a firm set of Best Practices, you will be on your way to a thriving Center of Excellence. In this section we will teach you about the critical role of Business Process Measurement. We will also explain how “Keeping the band” together will help you avoid becoming a Center of Mediocrity.
The Bridge Method: Building Your Center of Excellence
Many integrators claim they have a methodology but what they offer is highly IT-centric. With the Bridge Method, we will show you a step by step process to integrate your business into your Center of Excellence and measure the effectiveness of your Center of Excellence, not by downtime, but through improvements in profits, customer satisfaction, and greater efficiency. We will walk you through the Initiation and Assessment process, the Justification effort to ensure proper investment, the evolution and Planning process to ensure the scope of your Center of Excellence is complete and finally, how to launch and monitor the Center of Excellence’s activities.
We will close with a Open Discussion to field questions and address your particular issues.
