Having made a Ph.D. in Physics (Investigation of Tungsten-carbon-multilayers by means of X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy ) I kind of got astray in eCommerce Consulting in 1998. Back then I oftentimes considered SAP as a rock-solid but quiet inflexible backend system which had to be interfaced with to drive state-of-the-art consumer frontends (shops, catalogs, ...). In 2003 I 'changed sides' and got involved into SAP software development in the healthcare industry, working on an extension to the Industry Solution Healthcare (now SAP Patient Management). The extension is called i.s.h.med and focuses on medical processes complementing the original industry solution's focus on patient administration.
Apart from the latter I am a member of the Austrian Standards Institute's sub-chapter for health informatics as well as a passionate co-supervisor of university projects.
My current main interest lies in intra-organizational service orientation issues as well as large-scale inter-organization 'network setups'(communities, networks, ...) and accompanying standards.
Finally, I am a proud member of the SAP lemon order. In hoc signum vinces.
