Purpose:

This page outlines the procedure to to create a custom page format for your output device.

Overview:

If you need to create a custom page format for your output device, you can create and assign the custom format to your device type as follows below:

Procedure:

1.  First go to transaction SPAD:

  • SPAD -> Full Admin -> tab strip 'Device types'  -> Click on button 'Page formats'
  • Here you can create the new page format Z....

2.  Again from transaction SPAD:

  •  SPAD -> Full Admin -> tab 'Device types' -> 'Format types'
  • Here define a new format type (usually you may use the same name as the page format).  Type is 'Format type for Sapscript'
  • In the 'Page format' field, enter the new Page Format you created above.

3.  Next, copy the device type which you use to process eg: a SAPSCRIPT or Smartform to a custom device type:

  • SPAD -> Utilities -> For device types -> Copy device type
  • eg:   Copy device type: HPLJ4 to device type: ZHPLJ4

4.  Again from transaction SPAD:

  • SPAD -> Full Admin -> tab strip 'Device types' -> Click on button 'Device types'
  • Select the new device type, button 'Formats', and add the new format here
