Printer selection works differently between the old access method F (via SAPLPD now no longer under development) and access method G (see note 821519) known as 'New Technology'
If an SAP application creates a large number of print requests at once, a large number of dialog boxes appear for access method G. This is the only reason why some customers do not want to switch from access method F to G. However, access method F does use a completely different mechanism than access method G for printing.
For a solution refer to the SAP note 2028598
Via a kernel patch update and the option NEW_FPRINT_ONLY with the report RSPO0021. As a result, access method F acts similarly to access method G.
