SOAManager Documentation via Help Link in Page Header

This article describes how the documenation for SOAmanager is linked to the help link available in SOAManager Page header on almost every page.

Concept

Documentation for SOAManager is provided by SAP in SDN in the area "ABAP Connectivity - Web Services ABAP" and linked from SOAManager with the help of a system table which is maintained by SAP. Customer can overrule the links to SAP´s SDN Documentation with own links in a special table. With this customers can access own documentation for SOAmanager context based in order to offer even more specific help to their administrators.

Prerequisites

SDN Documentation is available from July 2011 on in an initial version and will be permanently maintained and enhanced. In the ABAP systems 7.02 SP09, 7.30 SP04 is the required release for using this function directly from SOAManager.

How to maintain own URLs

To access or maintain SOAManager Documentation URLs in the ABAP backend system, perform the following steps:

1. Start SOA Manager
Use the transaction code SOAMANAGER.

SOA Manager is a WebDynpro ABAP application. For this reason, its ICF node needs to be active. You can use transaction SICF to check that the ICF node for SOA Manager (/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/appl_soap_management) is active.
More information: SAP Note 1124553

2. From the main screen of the SOA Manager, go to the Tools tab.

3. Choose Documentation URLs for SOAManager.

4. In table Own Article URLs you will see your own URLs to your Documenation.
The table content is to be maintained by you and can be exported to a .xml-file and uploaded into other ABAP systems.
The table content may also be transported through your ABAP system landscape. The table is SRT_SDN_URL_C for which you may create a transport task entry with R3TR TABU.
