Context:

During normal operation, the support tool is going to connect to your J2EE host and SAP Cloud Server.

The tool is not able to use the proxy setting of the browser, hence you have to set the proper proxy to make it possible to connect to both host server where J2EE installed and SAP Cloud Server (internet).

Procedure:

  1. Open NW for JAVA - Support Tool
  2. Press on "Proxy Setting"  Button.
  3. Maintain the proper Proxy Host and Port
  • HTTP Proxy Host / Port : Specify the host name of the proxy server
  • HTTPS Proxy Host / Port : Specify the host name of the proxy server
  • Exceptions :Specify the As JAVA engine's host name bypassed by the proxy (if available)

Note: Because it requires to connect to both internet and intranet, you have to make sure the correct setting according to your environment landscape, here are some examples:

LandscapeProxy Setting

The PC requires proxy to connect internet

The PC does not require proxy to connect J2EE

"HTTP/HTTPS proxy" - has to be set

"Exceptions" - Add the AS Java engine's host name to the list of sites bypassed by proxy

The PC requires proxy to connect internet

The PC requires proxy to connect J2EE

"HTTP/HTTPS proxy" - has to be set

"Exceptions" - leave as empty

The PC does not require proxy to connect internet

The PC does not require proxy to connect J2EE

"HTTP/HTTPS proxy" - leave as empty

"Exceptions" - leave as empty

Unfortunately, at the moment the tool does not allow to enter user and password as part of the proxy settings. As a workaround, you can run the tool as follows:

java -Dhttp.proxyUser=<USER> -Dhttp.proxyPassword=<PASSWORD> -Dhttps.proxyUser=<USER> -Dhttps.proxyPassword=<PASSWORD> -cp NWJavaSupportTool.jar sap.com.pst.fx.Main
