When using External SAP HANA Views you might notice that Navigation Attributes defined in a HCPR(see CompositeProviders) are not available in the corresponding External HANA View. In such a case check the list of restrictions below, for some points you can also find examples with screenshots. If you activate an affected External SAP HANA View you will get the warning "InfoObject XY___ZZ excluded from the external SAP HANA view - Message no. RS2HANA_VIEW044" or "Navigation attribute XY___ZZ is excluded from the external SAP HANA view - RS2HANA_VIEW 151" displayed in the log. In case there is also a query which is supposed to used such a navigation attribute in the External Hana view, the generation terminates with the error: SAP HANA view: XY___ZZ not found in SAP HANA view of InfoProvider ... Message no. RS2HANA_VIEW056).

Constraints
  • Navigation attributes of InfoObjects which do not have Standard or a SAP HANA View as their master data access type, are not supported. If the navigation attribute is also authorization-relevant, it is not possible to generate an SAP HANA view.
  • Usage of navigation attributes are not supported in all cases for a HCPR where the join fields of a join are not identical(non-trivial mapping), see HCPR with Left Outer Join and Navigation Attributes for details.
  • There are restrictions if navigation attributes are based on compounded characteristics - see Navigation Attributes based on Compounded Characteristics.
  • If the navigation attribute is not part of a BW PartProvider of the CompositeProvider and the PartProvider is not an advanced Datastore, it is not supported to use the attribute in the External SAP HANA View. You need to switch on the navigation attribute on the level of the corresponding PartProvider(this situation is similar to the following: HCPR based on InfoCubes&Navigation Attributes). This is not necessary if the PartProvider is an advanced Datastore Object.
  • In case the CompositeProvider characteristic of the navigation attribute is mapped to a navigation attribute of a PartProvider: the navigation attribute is not supported in the external SAP HANA view and hence excluded from the SAP HANA view.
  • If the CompositeProvider characteristic of the navigation attribute is mapped to a characteristic of a PartProvider with a different basic characteristic than the basic characteristic of the CompositeProvider characteristic: the navigation attribute is not supported in the external SAP HANA view and hence excluded from the SAP HANA view.
