Explanation using Illustrated Example
The newly created master data is always in 'M' Version in the Master Data P table. This is not available for reporting.
An attribute change run is required to activate these new records and make them ready for reporting.
Usually process chains run these masterdata loads followed by an Attribute change run.
But there are scenarios where master data changes are more frequent and therefore the latest data is not available for reporting.
This can be solved by using the Most Recent Reporting functionality of an InfoSet, that makes the records in M version available for reporting.
Let us take the following master data table as an example.

We can see that all the records are active i.e in A version.
Now, a record has been changed. . You can see that both A and M version of the record exist in the master data table but as the Attribute change run has not been executed yet, it will not be
reflected in the query output

If we want to see the latest data in the output , we have to enable 'Most Recent Reporting' in the InfoSet design.
To do that, During the Infoset edit mode, Click on Goto->Global properties as shown below

Now, Select the checkbox circled in red below to enable 'Most Recent Reporting'.

Save and activate.
Now your report will use the data in M version during query execution.
