Extension Points for the Web Intelligence Interactive Viewer
This page will contain some samples, tips and/or guides on how to use the Extension Points for the Web Intelligence (WebI) Interactive Viewer, which is also known as the DHTML viewer.
This feature was released as of Service Pack 2 (SP2) of XI 3.
Please note that this feature only has an evaluation license and is not intended for use in a production environment. If you wish to implement this on a production environment you will have to obtain a Partner License.
Although the Extension Points for the WebI DHTML Viewer can be implemented on both the Java InfoView as well as the .Net InfoView, this Wiki page will only focus on the Java side. Also, the page assumes that you are using the default Java InfoView installation on the default Tomcat (installed by BusinessObjects).
This page was not intended to replace the existing documentation found on the Innovation Center and is just meant to provide further understanding through additional samples.
Where to begin?
I highly recommend that you start with the documentation and samples from the Innovation Center. The download will contain both the Extension Points for the WebI Rich Client and the DHTML Viewer. However, this Wiki page will only focus on the Extension Points for the WebI DHTML Viewer.
From this point on, I will refer to the Extension Points for the Web Intelligence Interactive/DHTML Viewer simply as Extension Points.
The files associated with the Extension Points are as follows:
This is the documentation for the Extension Points.
This is the samples for the Extension Points.
Deploy and test the samples by following the instructions on Chapter 2 (Beginning with samples) of the documentation.
