Deploying SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform in the real world

Deploying SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform (BIP) can involve more than just installing BI platform software on a single machine. To fully leverage SAP BI platform in your company's environment, you may want to complete the following tasks:

  • Set up firewalls, reverse proxy servers, and load balancer
  • Configure your company's existing software, such as application servers and database servers
  • Install and configure BI platform software on multiple machines to achieve scalability and redundancy
  • Integrate with your company's existing security infrastructure

Since setup instructions vary for different operating systems, application server vendors, and database vendors, this wiki contains end-to-end instructions for setting up various deployment scenarios in your company's environment. Each deployment scenario is called a pattern.
