Hi All.
Considering the past solution with QAAWS on a BOBJ Universe which is built on a SAP BI query, I was expecting a lot from the 'direct connection'.
After installing Xcelsius 2008 SP2 on the frontend and getting SAP BI NW on EHP 1 SP5, I was able to get the connection working. It was quite some work, but I was anxious to test it.
And what a disappointment! Data is still not visible in the spreadsheet and it is highly unclear where the query data has to be put. The most simple dashboard (displaying the query data) is simply not responding.
Either I am not able to select the data from the Data Connection setup, or the interface is far from 'ready to release to customers'.
Since I have quite a reference in the Netherlands regarding SAP BI, I would appreciate a good guideline for what customers can expect from the BOBJ Xcelsius - SAP BI query connection. If it isn't getting better I cannot advise my customers to start using Xcelsius compared to SAP Visual Composer, Web Application Designer or even non-SAP tools like Spotfire or Qlikview.
A response is very much appreciated.
