InA Introduction

InA (Information Access) is a JSON (Java Script Object Notation) based client-server protocol that is supports to build analytical and planning applications. There exist two InA flavors, MDS InA and BW InA, that share a common specification but in practice are quite different when one compares concrete InA requests or responses created for MDS InA or BW InA.

The concrete instances or InA requests and responses are so different since the analytical engines - MDS as the HANA analytical engine and AE or BW OLAP as the BW analytical engine - are quite different.

Clients (Like SAC) using InA usually use the Firefly SDK as an API to create and consume InA requests and responses, though it is possible to use InA without the Firefly SDK.
