Purpose

What is FIM

SAP Business Objects Financial Information Management (FIM) is a specialized ETL for the EPM applications, and provides connectivity to other SAP applications such as BW and ECC.It is part of the Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) Suite and provides a business encapsulation on top of SBOP Data ServicesIt has a user-friendly interface, dedicated transformation rules, and integrated business specific workflows specifically for its target audience,  the business users

The purposes of FIM are:

* Move data between EPM suite applications

* Import data from not-EPM sources such as flat files, database tables, SAP ECC, SAP BW

FIM can load data to the following EPM solutions:

Strategy management

Business Planning and Consolidation

Financial consolidation

Intercompany reconciliation

Profitability and cost management

How to setup the specific EPM applications

In order to use FIM with the various SAP EPM solutions, specific settings and configurations may be needed.
