Purpose
In this article, we will introduce how to connect Financial Information Management (FIM) to a SAP HANA database repository. This configuration is supported by SAP Financial Information Management v10.0 since Support Package 12.
Overview
Steps involved to connect FIM to a SAP HANA repository:
1/ Download and install SAP HANA client 64-bit
2/ Download and install SAP HANA Studio
3/ Create System in SAP HANA Studio
4/ Configure HANA in FIM Administration page
1/ Download and install SAP HANA client 64-bit
The client can be found on SAP Service Market Place at this url:
https://support.sap.com/software/installations.html
The easiest way is to click on "Search for Software" and the type 'Hana Client' in the new window.
Then click on "SAP HANA CLIENT 1.00", select your application server's operating system and download latest client revision.
Uncompress the '.SAR' file, and run the 'hdbsetup.exe' file.
2/ Download and install SAP HANA Studio
Support Portal > Download Software > Support Packages and Patches > Browse Download Catalogue > SAP In-Memory (SAP HANA) > HANA Platform Edition" SAP HANA PLATFORM EDITION" SAP HANA PLATFORM EDIT. 1.0 > Entry by Component > HANA Studio
3/ Create System in SAP HANA Studio
Open Hana Studio and select Add system…
Host Name: Type in the HANA server name
Instance Number: Type in the HANA database instance number
Description: Enter a description
Leave everything else as is.
4/ Configure HANA in FIM Administration page
Database type: HANA
Server name: enter the HANA server name and port (port should be 30(instance number)15, for example, if the instance number is 8 the port will be 30815
User name: Enter HANA database user name
Password: Enter HANA database user password
Click Check to see if the connection works.
Restart Tomcat to create the FIM database tables in HANA
