Correction Claim can be created for any claim that has some wrong data such as incorrect incorrect marketing project assignment, incorrect payee or incorrect amount.
The process looks as following. For a claim that is already settled it turns out that the validated amount is too high or too low. The option is either to cancel the whole claim and create the same again, or create a correction claim.
From the source claim we create the correction claim.
The correction claim is marked with the correction indicator.
The correction claim now gets the data corrected, such as any different validated amount and can be settled.
The settlement created for the source claim holds the amount specified in the souce claim.
Settling the correction claim calculates the delta amount and is created for the delta amount only.
In case the new validated amount is smaller than the old validated amount this will result in a debit memo. In case the the new validated amount is greater than the old validated amount this will result in a credit memo. In this example the settlement is considered as credit memo since the old validated amount was 1000 and the new validated amount 800 is smaller.
The process looks as following:
The amounts in both settlement must be equal to the validated amount in the correction claim.
The whole loop with having the dispute case involved looks may look as following:
