Overview
Registry changes
From Start > Run > enter "regedit" in order to access the registry.
- Create the two required registry keys in the “WebClient” folder as follows:
- Now, let's create the "AllowShowCache" entry. Mouse right-click > DWORD Value > name this key “AllowShowCache” > once created, select Modify and assign a value of 1.
This allows the WebClient cache webpage to become accessible (1=accessible 0=forbidden) - Open your webclient status webpage by going to IE and enter http://XX.XX.XX.XX/showstatus.htm (where XX is the ip address of your web client). You should see something like this (click the image to maximize):
This page gives an overview of the current WebClient status (note: log level may be changed from here or from the registry method explained below)
- Open your web client cache webpage the same way as above http://XX.XX.XX.XX/showcache.htm . The web cache page can also be reached from the show status page – top right.
Changing the SCC Web Client Log Level
For the purpose of troubleshooting, it may be sometimes necessary to raise the WebClient log level in order to capture the functionality of the BCM WebClient component.
(Note: Creation of registry key in step 2 is for BCM 6.0 – In CCtr 7.0 it’s there by default)
- From Start > Run > enter “regedit” in order to access the registry.
- Navigate to the Web client folder: e.g. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > WICOM > XXX_WEB > WebClient.
Create the required registry key in the "WebClient" folder as follows:
- Right-mouse click -> New > DWORD Value > name this key “loglevel” > once created select Modify and assign an appropriate decimal value for your needs.
Value are; 0 (ERROR), 1 (INFO), 2 (DEBUG), 3 (TRACE).
Or from the "AllowShowStatus" webpage ERROR, INFO, DEBUG or TRACE maybe selected, although a restart of the component will revert back to the registry value.
- Right-mouse click -> New > DWORD Value > name this key “loglevel” > once created select Modify and assign an appropriate decimal value for your needs.
