Process Overview

 

The Trade Promotion Guidelines provide a rule based framework to validate certain data in a TP. The Guidelines are defined on organizational level and valid for a certain period of time. The Promotion Guideline check is executed for all TPs created for a certain sales org, within the defined time range. The so called PPG can either be executed manually, or based on a certain status.

 

In the Promotion Guideline certain key figures are defined that are validated in the TP.

On executing the PPG the key figure from the promotion guideline is validated against the corresponding key figure in the trade promotion.

 

PPG online mode

 

The PPG can be executed in online mode. The PPG is executed when a certain status defined in customizing is set, or when the TP is saved with having a certain status. Alternatively the PPG can be executed by the user.

 

The result is provided to the user, and the TP Guideline Check status is set accordingly. This can either be OK if the PPG was executed successfully.

Or can be set to 'Violation' if the check failed.

 

PPG background mode

 

Alternatively the PPG can be executed in background with scheduling report RCRM_TPM_PPG_BATCH_RUN.

 

The result is displayed to the user in the WEB UI.

The PPG is executed on any event that triggers the PPG_CHECK_HANDLER event handler. When manually triggering the PPG the TP status is validated against the BEFORE_SAVE event status defined for the  PPG_CHECK_HANDLER event handler. TPs that do not have any of the status active are not execute the PPG.

Depending in how the PPG is triggered different rule events are triggered.

Each rule event holds certain events.

 

The rules itself need to be designed using transaction BRF for BRF object CRM_MKTPL_TPM.
