The purpose of this document is to show all the steps needed to configure an IDoc to File scenario. The scenario used in this example is to send SD (Sales and Distribution) pricing condition records via an IDOC to PI. PI will then write the condition records to a local file directory. This document will help PI consultants understand the ALE (Application Link Enabling), SD and PI configurations needed to complete this scenario.

  • Sender system : SAP ERP 470
  • PI system : SAP NETWEAVER PI 7.1
  • Receiver : Local File Directory

ALE configurations in the Sender system

Create a new logical system for the PI system using transaction BD54. See Defining/Setting Up a Logical System.

Create a Logical system (LS) Partner profile using transaction WE20. See Creating an Outbound Partner Profile. I also assigned the outbound message type to the partner profile. The outbound (Idoc) message type needed to send SD pricing condition records it COND_A.
