Business Process Procedure Overview

Customer master data is the data you require to conduct business relationships with your customers. It includes address data and terms of payment, for example. It also controls how business transactions are posted to a customer account and how the posted data is processed. Master data, such as whether complete delivery is required and the default delivery plant, is stored in master records.

 Tips and Tricks
Transaction code VD01 does not create the customer centrally therefore; there are no accounting views.  To create the customer centrally, use transaction code XD01.
You can create a customer referencing a prior customer by enter information in the Reference box.
In standard configuration, the customer number will be internally assigned by the system after completion of the customer master creation.  In non-standard configuration, you will need to enter the customer number.

Reconciliation account

When you post items to a subsidiary ledger, the system automatically posts the same data to the general ledger.   Each subsidiary ledger has one or more reconciliation accounts in the general ledger. These reconciliation accounts ensure that the balance of G/L accounts is always zero. This means that you can draw up balance sheets at any time without having to transfer totals from the subledgers to the general ledger.

R

Enter the appropriate account

Use the drop down menu.

1.5.             Use the tab control to toggle between the Company Code Data information groups: Account management, Payment transactions, Correspondence, and Insurance.  Alternatively, the menu paths Goto -> Next tab (F8) and Goto -> Previous tab (F7) can be used.
