The Integration with Digital Asset Management ES bundle enables customers to integrate a third party Digital Asset Management system with SAP CRM. It is designed to help marketing departments and media companies more efficiently utilize their digital assets such as videos, pictures and audio files by providing an interface between third-party Digital Asset management tools and SAP CRM.

  • enables marketing or sales professionals to manage and optimize the usage of digital assets within the Marketing and Sales process.

This section will explore a series of use cases which are supported by the Integration with Digital Asset Management ES bundle. Each scenario will show how different outcomes can be achieved by using the enterprise services in different combinations. Note that these examples may refer to users directly invoking enterprise services. This illustrates the flow of the service operations; in fact, service operations are invoked by an application, by an application's user interface (UI), or by another service operation. While these examples illustrate a few of the ways that this ES bundle could be used, the intention is to show the flexibility and reusability of these business objects and enterprise service operations so that you will have a clearer understanding of how to best deploy them in your own environment. Use Case 1: Set up - Digital Asset Management Integration

An administrator will generate the search criteria available for the digital asset search. The search structure will be generated based on the Digital Asset properties which are available in the DAM system. If the DAM system supports Digital Asset type dependent properties, this will be also considered during the search criteria generation.

A marketing professional is developing a new Product Launch Campaign. After maintaining the general data for the Campaign such as campaign type, start date, end date etc, he wants to assign the Digital Assets which shall be used within this campaign. He calls the Digital Asset search via the respective assignment block and searches for the relevant assets such as product picture, video clip etc. The Find Digital Asset Version Basic Data By Elements enterprise service operation will be triggered when the marketing professional hits the search button. Finally he assigns the relevant assets to the new Product Launch Campaign.

On the product overview page it shows the assigned Digital Assets including a thumbnail and the most important attributes.

When the marketing professional hits the search button, the Find Digital Asset Version basic Data by Elements enterprise service operation is triggered.

    There is a document Third Party Digital Asset Management Integration  available in the SAP Service Marketplace (under SAP EHP1 for SAP CRM 7.0 > Marketing > Marketing Resource Management) that details the SAP CRM integration points with OpenText and customizing requirements (relatively simple).
