What's Mobile Tagging?

Mobile tagging is the process of providing data on mobile devices, commonly through the use of data (such as a URL) encoded in a two-dimensional barcode, meant to be read and inputted  using a camera phone.

For more info on this refer to wikipedia .

Main different mobile-tagging codes follow:

SAP TechEd 2010 session CD119 Introducing QR Codes in Your SAP System presented in Berlin
by Sergio Ferrari

The session is available for download here Cd119 - Introducing QR-Codes in Your SAP System

This session will explain how it's easy, within the SAP Business Suite, to take advantage of QR-Codes, the two dimensional bar codes that appear as patterned squares. It is also introduced in the blog SAP TechEd 2010 - CD119 Introducing QR Codes in Your SAP System.

SDN Blog Generating QR codes with a Zebra Crossing in the Java stack

by Robert Russell

My QR code adventures in SAP, this time with ZXing (Zebra Crossing) and Java. The open source based ZXing has a QR code encoder in its core package. Also my attempts at using the ZXing barcode scanner to send data back to SAP with a hack and intents. How hard can it be for me as a beginner in Java to generate a QR code and get scanned data into SAP.  Nov. 8, 2010

SDN Blog Barcodes in SAP with the Barcode Writer in Pure Postscript

by Robert Russell

The Barcode Writer in Pure Postscript (BWIPP) supports all major barcode symbologies (including 2d barcodes). The open source based BWIPP can be configured into an SAP device type for any of its supported barcodes. Which means it can be used with sapscript, smartforms or ABAP list with printer controls. This blog details the method to generate a PDF with barcodes via a Windows desktop. Although any postscript level 2 compatible printer could be used for direct printing. Oct. 25, 2010

SDN Blog More Barcodes with Barcode Writer in Pure Postscript

by Robert Russell

This blog demos extended use of the BWIPP and is in 3 sections
1) Barcode Sample Page. Generate barcodes by merging the BWIPP code with the SAP output stream on the desktop with free pdf software.
2) Generate custom barcodes with BWIPP and display them using the ABAP Bitmap class from Thomas Jung.
3) Using standard (free) GuiXT scripts to generate a barcode to display in Windows sapgui.

Code Exchange project abap2qrcode
by Sergio Ferrari

This project aims to speed-up the adoption of QR Codes within SAP systems proposing a set of ABAP Classes, SICF handler and a Web Dynpro for ABAP application to play around and test QR Code generation in an interactive way.
