What is the synchronization process for Mobile Time and Travel application?

A three-level synchronization concept covers:

  • Installation of the application(s)
  • Download of Customizing and Master Data
  • Exchange of Transaction Data

The Mobile Infrastructure offers support for the initial installation and for the deployment of patches, updates and customer-specific enhancement code.

Mobile Time and Travel is a Generic Sync Mobile Infrastructure application therefore the applications handle the synchronization of Transactional Data and not by the Mobile Infrastructure Home Page. Customizing Data and Master Data is synchronized when the user synchronizes from within the applications and a time stamp in SAP R/3 can be set to trigger a download with the next synchronization.

Transaction Data is downloaded from SAP R/3 in the course of each synchronization. Transaction Data can be created, changed, or deleted either online or offline. If the same data is changed online and offline between synchronizations, a sophisticated conflict handling function ensures that data remains consistent.

I modified the xMTT application using NW Developer Studio and exported the project with an option "Add JSP as compiled classes". But once I started the application inside the NW Mobile Client (or MI Client), I get an error "The page cannot be found".

This is mainly due to the web.xml file in the development enivornment is incorrect. You can check SAP Note 1082190 for the correct web.xml files to be used and the steps for installation.

When I was using Single Sign-On (SSO) for xMTT, the synchronization will either enter infinite loop or the following error messages will be displayed immediately after the synchronization is triggered. In MTR - SYNC_LABEL_NO_CONN or No connection, try again later. In MTS - SYNC_LABEL_NO_CONN_NO_PWD or Invalid password or No connection, try again later

You could have been using an older patch version of xMTT 2.0, make sure you have applied the latest patch version of xMTT 2.0. This application error had been fixed in xMTT 2.0 SR4 PL05.

I have experienced performance issue within MTS 2.0 when starting the application, navigating between periods and synchronizing.

You may have a older version of xMTT 2.0. Please use xMTT 2.0 SR5 PL01 or above for better performance as the application code has been optimized.

In MTS 2.0, how can I hide the status message that says "You have recorded adequate times for all workdays until dd/mm/yyyy. Your recorded times have been approved until dd/mm/yyyy."

You will need to enhance the MTS application to implement this function. Modify the MTS coding in the NW Developer Studio. Look for Java class "com.sap.mbs.mts.home.control.imple.HomeController"; extend its method called:
protected boolean isStatusMessageVisible()
and change its return boolean value to "false" instead of "true".
