ESS SP update upgrade DTR conflict

Problem

The recommended update strategy for component ESS/MSS consists of several steps. It is not possible, to safely import the new SP level into the already existing track.

Symptoms

Though the actual import of a new SP of component ESS/MSS finishes successfully, the CBS Web UI shows broken DCs. Also, the repository-import log reports conflicts in the respective DTR workspace.

Solution

The update strategy for ESS/MSS involves creating a new track, into which the new SP has to be imported. Following, the custom modifications have to be repeated in the new track. Please refer to SAP Note 872892 (attachment "NWDI cookbook for XSS") for details.
