Purpose

This section describes how to troubleshoot different errors that may occur while running the SAPMEINT CTC configuration tool.

For ease of use in viewing an SAP Note, right click on the Note link and select Open in new window or Open in new tab.

Overview

The following errors are reviewed:

401 error

Verify that the password for the site_admin user is correct.

    1. Try logging into SAPME with the site_admin user and password. If that fails then it will not work in CTC.
    2. Login to the NetWeaver Administrator (NWA) with a user that has administrator privileges.
    3. In the NWA, navigate to Configuration Management > Security > Identity Management.
    4. In the Identity Management screen, set the Search Criteria drop down to User.
    5. Click the Go button.
    6. Search in the results for the site_admin user.
    7. Select the site_admin row in the table.
    8. In the Details section, click the Modify button.
    9. Change the password to a known value.
    10. Save the changes.
    11. Try logging into SAPME with the site_admin user and new password. Once you have successfully logged in this is the site_admin password to now use in CTC.

404 error

The HTTPS protocol is in use but has not been enabled. There are 2 possible solutions:

  • Configure Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)

By Default SSL is not shipped with NetWeaver. To make HTTPS calls in NetWeaver SSL must be enabled. The SAP Cryptographic Library is required to enable Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption of HTTP connections. See the NetWeaver Installation Guide for information on obtaining the software and configuring NetWeaver.

  • Switch all SAP ME Web Services from HTTPS to HTTP

You can find steps how to switch SAP ME Web Services from HTTPS to HTTP on this page: How to switch SAP ME Web Services from HTTPS to HTTP.

Authorization failed

The wizard execution fails with the exception against failed authorization. The exception looks like:

SAP ME Application fails on create or update 0001 site. Verify that SAP ME application is up and running at http://server:50000/manufacturing See error trace in CTC details for Create or Update SAP ME Site task: AxisFault faultCode: {http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/}Client faultSubcode: faultString: Authorization failed. Please check security log for details. faultActor: faultNode: faultDetail: {http://sap-j2ee-engine/client-runtime-error}java.lang.SecurityException:Authorization failed. Please check security log for details.

To resolve this problem, verify Netweaver Roles assigned to SITE_ADMIN user. In particular check whether SAP_ME_ADMINNISTRATOR and SAP_ME_INTEGRATOR Roles assigned.

To resolve this error, check SAP Note "1984485 - Bad request error running SAPMEINT CTC Wizard". You need to update the kernel for Netweaver. As to how to update Kernel, see SAP Note 19466 and Netweaver installation guide, Section 6.9 "Applying the latest Kernel and Support Package Stacks"

ERP integration menu is not created

For ME 15.0, see the solution in SAP KBA 2082658 - SAPMEINTCTC fails to configure MII for SAPMEINT. For ME 6.1 SP01, a workaround is described in SAP Note 1874410 -- SAPMEINT unable to load menu options. Make sure the components are always deployed in the correct order, as the wrong deployment order can also cause problems in some cases.
