How to activate trace for NWBC for Desktop?


You are requested by SAP support consultant to provide a trace.

Step 1

Go to menu Support


Step 2

 A popup will be displayed after step 1. Choose the corresponding trace level and click OK.


Trace level description

 Error: Only errors (default setting)

Warning: Only warnings

Information: General information

Verbose: Highest trace level


Extended Supportability in NWBC for Desktop

To get the Extended Supportability menu, you have to keep pressing CTRL while clicking menu button in NWBC otherwise the menu is not displayed.

Trace location

All NWBC traces and log files are written into the user local directory. For versions Microsoft Windows Vista and above, the path is:

    C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Local\SAP\NWBC\Traces

 For Microsoft Windows XP, the path is:

    C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Application Data\SAP\NWBC\Traces
