You can define data media:

  1. To be able to remove files from the SAP system, you must define a data medium. In Customizing, choose:

Cross-Application Components ->  Document Management à General Data -> Define Data Media

  2. Check whether the "PC" entry exists for Windows environments. If not, create this entry.
  3. Choose: Default Entry.

  4. The system records a default entry that is valid for all computers without a "HOSTNAME" system variable.

Hence, you do not have to maintain an entry for each frontend computer.

You can define workstation application:

In this operation, you make the settings for the workstation application. You can, for example:

  • Define the local workstation application or the workstation application in the network
  • Specify the copy template for the original
  • Set up Office integration.

This is done in SAP customizing under:

Cross-Application Components -> Document Management -> General Data -> Define Workstation Application

If the workstation applications listed below do not exist, you have to make the following entries as the minimum:

Workstation application

If you want to define additional workstation applications, repeat this process.

You can define workstation application in the network:

To do this, choose the workstation application and call up the "Define workstation application in the Network dialog. Make sure that the corresponding entries for the data media PC and workstation application UGI are included in the definition.

Use the following entry as the application:

/DSCSAG/ADDFILETOOM%SAP-PROGRAM%%NO-CHECKOUT%

1.        Check whether the "PC" entry exists for Windows environments. If not, create this entry.

2.       Choose Default Entry.

3.        The system records a default entry that is valid for all computers without a "HOSTNAME" system variable.
