In ECTR you can enable a Digital Signature during a status change. You need to define the target status in DMS Customizing (transaction DC10) with Digital Signature.
Additionally you need to add an entry in <ECTR installation path>\customize\config\default.txt:
sap.bapi.useGuiTransaction=/DSCSAG/DOC_CHANGE_MULTI3
