Installation Guide for SAP ECTR Patches
Download the desired Patch file from the SAP Marketplace and start the Installation.
- If the extraction was successful proceed you can start the installation process.
- Now you have to select the parts to be installed (default: all selected).
Please notice the Information on the upper right side.
- The Installer is now updating the data.
- When the installation was successful navigate to your installation directory.
Indentify all template-customize folders where the new configuration files are stored.
e.g.:- \\SAP\ECTR\template-customize
- \\SAP\ECTR\addons\plantMaintenance\template-customize
- \\SAP\ECTR\applications\wrd\template-customize
Many addon or application directories have a template-customize folder.
- Now you have to compare the data from all template-customize folders with the data in the referring customize folder. We suggest to use WinMerge as used in this guide.
- This is an example overview over the changed data inside the files:
- For the not identical text files you have to check if the new content has to be transferred into the files in the customize folder.
Attention: If you just replace the files you'll loose your implemented customization.

- Compare the files, copy your customized settings into the template files and replace the config files ones with the enhanced template files.

- Backup your customizing somewhere outside of ECTR installation directory
- Start installer with parameter "/RemoveOldDirs" which resets all your customizing to defaults.
- Compare your backup files with installed defaults and take over necessary changes into installation.
