Important

This "How to" is only important for customers who are updating from an older patch less than or equal to 48 to patch 49 or newer.

It is not necessary for new customers who start with patch 49 or newer.

In general

Due to technical reasons a default setting had to be changed from patch 49 of the SAP ECTR interface to PTC Creo.

The following configuration is affected:

Default up to and including patch 48: "Checkbox is set" (true)

Default was changed from patch 49: "Checkbox is not set" (false)

Symptom

After an update from an older patch to patch 49 or newer it is possible that the mentioned setting is changed from "Checkbox is set" to "Checkbox is not set".

Solution

Before performing the update:

1. Start SAP ECTR
2. Start PTC Creo Parametric with the SAP ECTR interface to PTC Creo

3. Start the configurator of the SAP ECTR interface to PTC Creo and check the setting:
   SAP PLM > Settings > Advanced > CAD desktop compatibility

4. Note the setting

After execution of the update to patch 49 or newer:

1. Start SAP ECTR
2. Start PTC Creo Parametric with the SAP ECTR interface to PTC Creo
3. Start the configurator of the SAP ECTR interface to PTC Creo and check the setting:
   SAP PLM > Settings > Advanced > CAD desktop compatibility
   1. If the setting is still the same as before everything is ok, nothing more needs to be done.
   2. If the setting is not the same as before set the checkbox to the noted value and save the configuration with the Save button in the dialog
      
4. Close the configurator
5. Close PTC Creo Parametric
6. Close SAP ECTR
7. Start SAP ECTR
8. Start PTC Creo Parametric with the SAP ECTR interface to PTC Creo

9. Start the configurator of the SAP ECTR interface to PTC Creo and check if the setting is correct:
   SAP PLM > Settings > Advanced > CAD desktop compatibility
