Desired space- Product Life cycle Management

The scope of this page is limited to Quality Management module.

It’s  invariably observed that inspection lot goes in to CRTD status. It is not possible to record inspection results and give usage decision for such lots. This wiki page deals with the causes for this and their remedies.

  • Inspection plan does not exist for the material with appropriate usage. Or inspection plan exists but the plan creation date / time  is later than the inspection lot creation date /time.
    1. Select the inspection lot whose system status is CRTD.
    2. Click on change inspection lot. (Ctrl+Shift+F6)
    3. Click on Insp.  Specifications tab. Note down the usage.
    4. Go to QP03. Put material and plant. If inspection plan does not exist with the same usage, create it with T-Code QP01.
    5. Again go to change inspection lot (Ctrl+Shift+F6) and click on Insp.  Specifications tab.
    6. Ensure that key date just above to usage, is current date. If not change it to current date.
    7. Click on Task list/spec. You will get message as Inspection plan xxx was assigned to the inspection lot.
    8. Then click on Sample tab and click on Smpl icon. You will get message that Sample size was calculated
    9. Save. You will reach to initial screen. Refresh the data. System status will change to REL from CRTD.
    10. Now result recording and usage decision can be done.
  • More than one inspection plans have been created for the same material with same usage.
    1. Click on change inspection lot (Ctrl+Shift+F6) after selecting lot. Then click on Insp.  Specifications tab.
    2. Ensure that key date just above the  usage, is current date. If not change it to current date.
    3. Click on Task list/spec. If the material has more than 1 inspection plan with same usage you will get pop up of all such task lists with their groups. Double click on suitable group.
    4. The required task list will be assigned to lot and system status will change to CRTD upon refreshing.
    5. If you do not want every time the lost should go to CRTD mode, delete unwanted task list from QP02.
  • The inspection lot quantity is more than the maximum defined lot size in sampling scheme.
    1. Even though the inspection plan exists with appropriate usage, lot remains in CRTD status. If you are using sampling scheme, check the sampling scheme (in conjunction to sampling procedure) assigned to MIC.
    2. In case inspection lot quantity is more than the maximum defined lot size in sampling scheme you will encounter with message as The sampling scheme xxx is incomplete.
    3. And the lot status changes to CRTD PASG --Created and Plan/specification assigned.
    4. In such cases, go to QDP2 and edit the sample size defined in sampling scheme or assign different sampling scheme which contains bigger lot size.
    5. Go to change inspection lot (Ctrl+Shift+F6) and assign task list. Lot will change its status to REL.
  • In material master both Inspection with task list and inspection with material specification are active.
    1. Here system cannot decide by which methodology inspection to be performed. System does not get the proper logic to arrive at sample size and lot goes in to CRTD status.
    2. Hence deactivate either one of above ticks in material master. You will find this option by clicking on detail icon against assigned inspection type in material master.
  • Vendor / customer specific  inspection plan
    1. Even though inspection plan exists with appropriate usage, key date and sampling schemes, lot may remain in CRTD mode.
    2. One of the reasons would be vendor / customer specific task lists.
    3. Go to material assignment in QP02. Check whether any vendor or customer code is assigned against this material.
    4. If this vendor / customer code is different than you have with your lot, system status goes to CRTD mode.
    5. In such cases, either you add same material code and lot vendor / customer code or create new task list without vendor code assignment.
    6. Go to change inspection lot (Ctrl+Shift+F6) and assign task list. Lot will change its status to REL.

  1. Anand,

One correction. In some design configurations it might be perfectly normal that you use both material spec and inspection plans. In this case, the solution is not to untick one of these in the material master. The solution would be to create which ever one is missing. Then use QA02 to try and reassign the plan and/or spec to the lot.

This is great that you have added this!

  2. Hi Anand,

CRTD status will stand for one more cause. If the indicator for 'Automatic assignment' is not set against the inspection type, system will not assign a task list/ mat spec to the inspection lot. In such case, manual assignment is done. Therefore to get rid of CRTD status, 'Automatic assignment' should never be set off.

  3. Hey thanks Nitin for adding this info! Yes you are correct!
