As of PTC Creo 7 7.0.4.0 PTC has changed its installation strategy of PTC Creo.

Up to SAP ECTR Interface to PTC Creo SP04 PL04:
Up to this patch, PTC Creo 7 7.0.0.0 - 7.0.3.0 is supported directly.
To use PTC Creo 7 7.0.4.0 or a newer date code, PTC Creo 7 has to be installed with the "Legacy Toolkit Application Runtime" option.
In case that PTC Creo 7 7.0.4.0 or a newer date code is not installed with the "Legacy Toolkit Application Runtime" option, SAP ECTR Interface to PTC Creo up to this patch can not be started.
An unspecific error message is displayed: "Fehler beim Start"
After confirming the message the process "launcher.exe" has to be stopped in the Windows task manager.
As of SAP ECTR Interface to PTC Creo SP04 PL05:
As of this patch, support for PTC Creo 7 7.0.0.0 - 7.0.3.0 is no longer possible for technical reasons.
PTC Creo 7 7.0.4.0 and newer date codes for PTC Creo 7 are supported.
To fix an issue is was necessary to use PTC Toolkit API from PTC Creo 7 >= 7.0.4.0.
With the use of this PTC Toolkit API version the SAP ECTR Interface to PTC Creo can no longer be started with PTC Creo 7 7.0.0.0 - 7.0.3.0 due to the mentioned PTC article.
