SAP Workforce Management

(Business Scenario In-Store Workforce and Task Management)

In-Store Workforce and Task Management covers employee planning and scheduling for today's modern retail environment. This is realized by SAP Workforce Management, which performs the complex process of creating optimum employee schedules utilizing business variables entered during implementation and actual business and volume data captured throughout the day. It enables the Retail Store Manager to effectively align store strategy with the goals of the corporation, the expectations of customers, and the career needs of the employees. SAP ERP HCM facilitates effective time-management strategies and provides convenient tracking, monitoring, record keeping, and evaluation of time data as well as Talent Management and Employee Administration. The solution provides flexible forecasting which

  • Allows you to model your location work to create a forecast that best represents your actual requirements
  • Enables you to align your location workforce scheduling strategy effectively with the goals of the corporation, the expectations of customers and the career needs of your employees.
  • The solution then uses forecasts to calculate the best possible floor schedule while balancing such weighted variables as staffing needs, employee skill levels, payroll requirements, employee availabilities and workplace rules. The result - scheduling is transformed from a necessary, tedious clerical function into an analytical, cost effective business management process.

Software components of SAP WFM

  • Business Forecasting - WFM allows to model the location work to create a forecast that best represents your actual requirements. This can be done either using historical trend or weighted average based forecasting. It allows corporate management to make workload or forecast changes and send them down through their organization in order to control staffing requirements on an organization-wide basis.
Forecasting is done for various tasks like filler, flowed, mandatory and fixed. All the forecast calculation is done on quarter hour basis.
  • Scheduling - WFM allows for location initiated or corporate controlled schedule generation. Taking into account the employee work rules, availability, meal/break etc. Schedule Management allows you to Edit, Swap & Replace employee schedules. It also calculates the schedule exceptions.
It is integrated with SAP HCM for basic employee information.
  •  iTime Clock - The iTime Clock feature of WFM offers employees Web-based access for time entry punch and schedule review. iTime Clock records and tracks In and Out punches along with meal and breaks, and translates those activities into hours worked. Hours worked are collected and tabulated and can be passed along for the company's payroll processing.
The iTime Clock Administrator allows you to view/edit Employee Punches, review punch exceptions, view the tabulated pre payroll calculations, assign Manager Override authorization, and view Scheduled actions.
  • Analytics - WFM generates Real-time/BW reports like weekly schedule, schedule events, individual schedules, statistics, head counts, business volumes, and schedule exceptions using key performance indicators. You can customize content to limit the reports so that the data meets your specific requirements.
