Instance Startup Optimization in Microsoft Azure

New

The startup time of your instances in the Microsoft Azure cloud provider is reduced, if you choose one of these authorization types: Standard Authorization or Extended Authorization for Kubernetes Cluster.

This optimization is due to the fact that with these authorization types it is not required to copy the solution artifacts to your subscription before the first instance creation.

 Kubernetes Cluster in Microsoft Azure

New

SAP Cloud Appliance Library is now able to create a Kubernetes cluster into your Microsoft Azure subscription to deliver a containerized SAP software. If the SAP CAL solution supports a Kubernetes cluster, an additional step will be visible in the Advanced Mode of the Create Instance wizard where you can configure the number of nodes in the cluster, its size and the IP range of the access points.

The roles required by the Microsoft Azure user which will grant permissions to SAP Cloud Appliance Library are:

  • Global Administrator to access the Azure Active Directory.
  • Owner or User Access Administrator to access the scope /subscriptions/<your_subscription_ID>.

To verify if the solution supports a Kubernetes cluster, check the solution details.

Note that the first SAP Data Hub solution configured with a Kubernetes cluster will be available in Microsoft Azure in the middle of June this year.
