The purpose of this page is to explain the options available under Admin Center > Org Chart Configuration > Succession Org Chart.
Most of the Succession Org Chart configuration available in Admin Center is located in Admin Center > Succession > Org Chart Configuration. This Wiki page explains each of the available options in detail.

Q2 & Q3 2019 Product Enhancement
In Q2 2019 (b1905) release, all customers will be migrated to the v12 Succession Org Chart automatically, if they have not enabled it yet. As part of this release, the Org Chart Configuration options in Admin Center have been updated to reflect only the options that are supported for the v12 Succession Org Chart. Previously, there was a "Set fields to display and their order" section, but it's no longer possible to control this due to the Position Node layout of the v12 Succession Org Chart.
In Q3 2019 (b1908) release, instances using Legacy Position-based Nomination Method (Only) will see the option "Display position title instead of user title" available, to display the position title. If this option is disabled, the system will use the users' titles on all succession screens, which is commonly used to avoid having to fill position titles when importing positions.
This option controls whether to display the incumbent's and successors' pictures in the Succession Org Chart nodes.
Allow succession planners to view successors on org chart nodes/position tile view
If enabled, users with "Succession Planning Permissions" are able to see successors in the Org Chart Nodes and on Position Tile view. If not enabled, only users with "Succession Management and Matrix Report Permissions" are able to see successors in the Org Chart Nodes and Position Tile View.
Show the # of nominations for each successor
This option is available only for v11 Succession Org Chart. If enabled, the number of nominations for each successor is displayed in the Org Chart Nodes by enabling "Successor Details" in Display Options.
Limit succession org chart visibility to basic org chart target population
In the Company Org Chart (basic org chart) it is possible to restrict the user's navigation. In other words, it is possible to restrict which employees the logged-in user will be able to access. The Company Org Chart access is granted by the permission "Organization Chart Navigation Permission" (available under General User Permission in RBP), which requires a target population.
If this option is enabled, this restriction is extended to the Succession Org Chart, so that the logged-in user is only able to access employees which are part of the target population of his/her "Organization Chart Navigation Permission".
If the user tries to access an employee outside his/her target population, the user will receive the following message: "You do not have permission to access the selected user".
Hide the total team size for faster loading
By default, the Succession Org Chart displays the total team size under each position node. Since this information is calculated at runtime, it can cause slowness when loading upper-level positions for companies with a large number of users/positions. To improve the loading time in those cases, you can enable this option to hide this information and avoid it being calculated. Please refer to 2445176 - Succession Org Chart - Slowness when opening Upper Level Nodes for more information.
Hide the matrix team size for faster loading (Only for Matrix Report Only mode)
Similar to the above option, but it is related to matrix reporting relationships and only applies to the "Matrix Report Only" display option.
Hide contingent workers in the Succession Org Chart and Position Tile view
Enable Contingent Workers in Provisioning is required for this to work. This will allow you to switch whether to hide/show contingent workers as Incumbents to Positions in Succession Org Chart and Position Tile View.
This feature is available to all nomination methods:
- Legacy positions
- Metadata Framework (MDF) positions.

Position Dialog tab
There are some additional configuration options for Legacy Positions and MDF Positions on Admin Center > Succession > Org Chart Configuration > Position Dialog tab.
Allow succession planners to add/edit/delete positions?
If enabled, users with Succession Planning permissions will be able to add/edit/delete positions in the Succession Org Chart. If not enabled, only users with "Change User Information" permission (available under "Manage User" section in RBP) will be able to add/edit/delete positions in the Succession Org Chart.
Allow users to edit the position title
If enabled, users with access to edit positions in the Succession Org Chart will be able to edit the Position Title.
Note: The above settings only apply to the v11 Succession Org Chart, since it is not possible to edit Legacy Position data via the v12 Succession Org Chart.
Allow succession planners to view position details, even if they do not have MDF position permissions
If enabled, users with Succession Planning permissions will be able to view position details, even if they do not have permissions for the MDF Position object. Those users will only be able to see the fields of the Position object that you enable under "Select the fields to display in the position details dialog".
