Change forecast at Supersession Indicator

To remove predecessor forecast from successor for the duration predecessor is planning for its own demand ,activate the Indicator “Change forecast at Supersession” .

This indicator is provided as part of DRP service profile, so that predecessor forecast can be removed from the successor for the duration predecessor is planning for its own demand & it prevents by not bringing extra inventory of
successor for predecessor forecast.

Example of the usage:

You defined a 1:1 Supersession Chain Product A -> B.

A) If you activate this function then DRP plans within SPPD (Successor Product Planning Date)and SPRD (Successor Product Receipt Date) only the difference between the Forecast of the predecessor and the successor for the planning of the successor product.By this you can avoid double procurement.

DRP consideration of the Forecast over the timeline :

(a)Period of Demand up to the Successor Product Planning Date (SPPD) :

            Product A : Forecast A
            Product B : Forecast B

(b)From Successor Product Planning Date (SPPD) to Stock Exhaustion Date (SED) :

            Product A : Forecast A
            Product B : Forecast B - Forecast A

The diagram  below depicts scenario (A)-(a) & (b),considering an example where demand is 100.

B.) If you deactivate this function then DRP does no netting of Forecast between predecessor and successor product.

              Product A : Forecast A
              Product B : Forecast B
