Step 1: Welcome

Welcome to SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain (SAP IBP)!

Thank you for taking the next step on your journey to a better Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process. We at SAP are committed to your success and helping you realize benefits from your investment.

The System Administrator (IT Contact) speficied in the SAP IBP contract will receive all initial provisioning emails.
From Q4 2022 on, notifications are sent from: notification@sap.com
(before that notifications came from different email addresses like  do_not_reply@sap.com ,  no.reply.provisioning@sap.com , ias@notifications.sap.com , notification@sapnetworkmail.com or sap@mailsap.com)

Tip: make sure your email software doesn’t block this email address to avoid it going to your SPAM/Junk Mail email.

Initial logon to SAP IBP via SAP Identity Authentication (IAS):

Step by step guidance in a video how to log into your IBP system using IAS: Video

The initial logon to the IBP tenant has to be done via IAS since March 2021. No password for the IBP tenant is sent out.

Please check out this SAP Help documentation about the initial Admin user: Initial Admin User – SAP Help.

For detailed information, please listen to the recording and view the presentation of this session: SAP IAS Overview & New IBP Onboarding Process PDF | Recording

Optional: Set up authentication using a corporate identity provider: Video. You can find this information also in the SAP IBP Security Guide: User Authentication page

  • The following link can be used by customers to determine their IAS administrators: https://iamtenants.accounts.cloud.sap/
    • This link only works on the customer side (as SAP employee you get the error "Page not found")

    • If the recipient of the IBP onboarding emails (= IBP IT Contact) is not an IAS Administrator, you have to contact the admin of the IAS tenant to either create a) an IAS Admin  (SAP Help) or b) an IAS user (SAP Help ) for the IBP IT Contact

Requesting the IBP Production Environment via SAP for Me:

IBP customers will automatically receive their IBP Test environment on their contract start date.  Customers must request their IBP Production environment, when they are ready to use it, using the SAP for Me portal. For more information, including steps on how to use SAP for Me to request the environment, please refer to the following community blog post: Now provision your SAP Integrated Business Planning production environment using SAP for Me. This process was put in place in June 2021.

SAP Cloud Identity Services – Identity Provisioning (IPS)

SAP Cloud Identity Services – Identity Provisioning (IPS) is bundled with SAP IBP and all IBP customers get IPS tenants provisioned automatically from IBP release 2211 (Nov 2022) on. For the production environment, customers need to request the IBP production tenant (see section above) as usually and the IPS production tenant will be provisioned automatically with the IBP production tenant.  The bundling of IPS with IBP is effective since Aug 2021, whereas the automatic IPS tenant provisioning is effective with IBP 2211. More information on how IPS and IBP integrate together: SAP Help - Integration of IPS and IBP

Smart Data Integration (SDI):

From Oct 19th 2022 on, customers need to request access to SDI via incident on component SCM-IBP-OPS-SRV. The SDI onboarding notifications are not sent out automatically anymore from that date on.  After requesting access, you will get 1 notification with access information and 1 notification with password information per tenant. Requests for production and test tenants have to be made separately.

Real-Time Integration (RTI):

Real-Time Integration of IBP with SAP ECC or SAP S/4HANA is available for Order-Based Planning. Real-Time integration does not replace CI-DS (time-series) integration and customers who use SDI (Smart Data Integration) can continue to use this type of integration. The SAP Help and Webinars explain this in more detail. You can find the links below under "Step 3". RTI is available since Nov 2021 (IBP release 2111).

Prerequisite: For the connection of the source systems to SAP IBP, the SAP Connectivity service and cloud connector are needed. The connectivity service and cloud connector are part of the SAP Business Technology Platform which requires a separate subscription.
