1. Objectives

This article explains how to use the  SYSMON_SNAPSHOT data provider.

2. Supported Renderers

The SYSMON_SNAPSHOT data provider supports only Alert Table renderer.

3. Metrics Description

Here is a table explaining all possible attributes for the metrics:

4. Attributes Description

The DP for Sysmon Snapshot has 2 tabs for attributes:

  • Default
  • Category/Type

 4.1 KPI Monitoring Object

  • Select data provider /STDF/DP_SYSMON_SNAPSHOT
  • Select the renderer Alert_Table
  • Select the Default tab
  • Choose a Monitoring Object
  • Choose a View mode

4.2 KPI Category/Type

  • Select a Category
  • Select a Type

5. How to validate

  • Select data provider /STDF/DP_SYSMON_SNAPSHOT
  • Select the Alert_Table renderer

  • Choose a Monitoring Object
  • Choose the Overview mode
  • Select the AVAIL Category

 Query: /STDF/DP_SYSMON_SNAPSHOT:COLOR=#1f77b4|legend=SHM110|OCC_JUMP_IN=|SLA=|TREND=|G2Y=|Y2R=|COLOR_RATING=|DISPLAY_ATTRIBUTES=|visible=true|MO=SHM110~ABAP|view=Overview|category=AVAIL|type=|display_value=false

The displayed table is:

5.1 Multiple Systems

  • Using multiple systems in the same query:

Query: /STDF/DP_SYSMON_SNAPSHOT:COLOR=#1f77b4|legend=SHM110|OCC_JUMP_IN=|SLA=|TREND=|G2Y=|Y2R=|COLOR_RATING=|DISPLAY_ATTRIBUTES=|visible=true|MO=SHM110~ABAP,OTO~ABAP|view=Overview|category=AVAIL|type=|display_value=false

PS: For multiple systems (using the same query), the legend field is not valid: for each system, the system column will be filled automatically with its appropriate name.

  • Using different categories in multiple queries:

Query1:   /STDF/DP_SYSMON_SNAPSHOT:COLOR=#1f77b4|legend=Test_J2E~JAVA|OCC_JUMP_IN=|SLA=|TREND=|G2Y=|Y2R=|COLOR_RATING=|DISPLAY_ATTRIBUTES=|visible=true|MO=J2E~JAVA|view=Overview|category=PERFORM,CONFIGURE|type=|display_value=false

Query2:

 /STDF/DP_SYSMON_SNAPSHOT:COLOR=#1f77b4|legend=Test_S4H~ABAP|OCC_JUMP_IN=|SLA=|TREND=|G2Y=|Y2R=|COLOR_RATING=|DISPLAY_ATTRIBUTES=|visible=true|MO=S4H~ABAP|view=Overview|category=AVAIL,EXCEPTION|type=|display_value=false

PS:

  • In order to see the legend for multiple systems, the customer should configure a query for each system.
  • If we choose different categories for different queries in the same gadget, the header will get the different categories, display the status for the needed and gray the unwanted categories.
  •  The number of alerts displayed is calculated based on the chosen categories in the same line.

Example 1: For the system J2E~JAVA, we choose the view=Overview and we passed “Avail” and “Exception“ in the category filter, only the status of these two categories will be displayed and the number of alerts will be calculated accordingly:

The number of alerts= number of Availability Alerts + number of Error Alerts

  • If we choose the same categories for different queries in the same gadget. The header will be composed of only the wanted categories. Nothing will be grayed.

Example 2: We use two queries having the same categories in the same gadget:

Query1:

/STDF/DP_SYSMON_SNAPSHOT:COLOR=#1f77b4|legend=Test_J2E~JAVA|OCC_JUMP_IN=|SLA=|TREND=|G2Y=|Y2R=|COLOR_RATING=|DISPLAY_ATTRIBUTES=|visible=true|MO=J2E~JAVA|view=Overview|category=AVAIL,EXCEPTION|type=|display_value=false

Query2:

 /STDF/DP_SYSMON_SNAPSHOT:COLOR=#1f77b4|legend=Test_S4H~ABAP|OCC_JUMP_IN=|SLA=|TREND=|G2Y=|Y2R=|COLOR_RATING=|DISPLAY_ATTRIBUTES=|visible=true|MO=S4H~ABAP|view=Overview|category=AVAIL,EXCEPTION|type=|display_value=false

5.2 Single Systems

  •  DBMS as a Type:

Now, we will present how to display the details of a DBMS (or a host) related to a selected technical system and how to validate the data in the MAI.

System Monitoring application:

sm_workcenter => System and Application Monitoring => System Monitoring

Example 1:

Query:

/STDF/DP_SYSMON_SNAPSHOT:COLOR=#1f77b4|legend=HDB (DBMS)|OCC_JUMP_IN=|SLA=|TREND=|G2Y=|Y2R=|COLOR_RATING=|DISPLAY_ATTRIBUTES=|visible=true|MO=HDB|view=Detail|category=|type=DBMS|display_value=false

The alert table displayed is:

The results on the MAI:

Example 2:

Query: /STDF/DP_SYSMON_SNAPSHOT:COLOR=#1f77b4|legend=HDB (DBMS)|OCC_JUMP_IN=|SLA=|TREND=|G2Y=|Y2R=|COLOR_RATING=|DISPLAY_ATTRIBUTES=|visible=true|MO=S4H~ABAP|view=Detail|category=|type=DBMS|display_value=false

The alert table displayed is:

The results on the MAI:

  • Host as a Type:

Example 1:

Query: /STDF/DP_SYSMON_SNAPSHOT:COLOR=#1f77b4|legend=HDB (DBMS)|OCC_JUMP_IN=|SLA=|TREND=|G2Y=|Y2R=|COLOR_RATING=|DISPLAY_ATTRIBUTES=|visible=true|MO=S4H~ABAP|view=Detail|category=EXCEPTION|type=HOST|display_value=false

The alert table displayed is:
