1. Objectives

This article explains how to use the Data Volume Management (DVM) data provider.

2. Supported Renderer

The DVM data provider supports this following renderers:

  • Area Chart
  • Bar Chart
  • Line Column
  • Dual Line Chart
  • Dual Bar Chart
  • Dual Line Column
  • Line Chart
  • Stack Bar Chart
  • Stack Column Chart
  • Column Chart
  • Bar Chart

Here is an example of displayed data using the DVM data provider with the COLUMN_CHART renderer :

3. Tabs description

The DVM data provider has three tabs : Metrics, Filters and Advanced filters.

3.1 Metrics

In the metrics Tab, we have five metrics : 

1.Size of ABAP Tables (MB)

2.Size of archivable objects (MB)

3.Saving potential (MB)

4.Size of archived data (MB)

5.Size of deleted data(MB)


3.2 Filters

The content of filters tab depends on the selected metric. In the following screenshot, we displayed have the filters list for the "Size of ABAP Tables (MB)" metric:

3.3 Advanced Filters

Same thing for the Advanced Filters list, it depends on the selected metric. In the following screenshot, we displayed the advanced filters list for the "Size of ABAP Tables (MB)" metric:

4. Validation

We can validate each metric using its associated query/queries. 

4.1 Size of ABAP Tables (MB) metric Validation:

Query:

/STDF/DP_DVM:COLOR=#1f77b4|legend=Size of ABAP Tables|OCC_JUMP_IN=|SLA=|TREND=|G2Y=|Y2R=|COLOR_RATING=|DISPLAY_ATTRIBUTES=|visible=true|Metrics=Size of ABAP Tables (MB)|Filters=|Advanced_Filters=|Product=|Application_Area=|System=A4H|Document_type= 


The returned result in the OCC Dashboard is displayed in the following chart:


In order to validate the returned result, we use:   

Ø0SM_DVM_SIZE_HIST_SID_W: Query for week resolution

Ø0SM_DVM_SIZE_HIST_SID_M: Query for month resolution

For that, we have to access to the Query Monitor, execte theo RSRT1 transaction.

Once the application is launched:

1. Enter the appropriate query "0SM_DVM_SIZE_HIST_SID_Win the query field 

2. Click on ‘Execute’ button. 


3. Enter the appropriate filters 


4.2 Size of archivable objects (MB) metric Validation:

Used queries for validation of the size of archivable objects in MB:   

 Ø0SM_DVM_SIZE_HIST_AOBJ_WQuery for week resolution 

Ø0SM_DVM_SIZE_HIST_AOBJ_M: Query for month resolution

4.3 Saving potential (MB) metric Validation:

Used query for the validation of the saving potential in MB:   

Ø0SM_DVM_SAVING_SUM_SCEN  

4.4 Size of archived data (MB) metric Validation:

Used queries for validation of the size of archived data in MB:
