Tactical Dashboard Cache:

  • The program: /STDF/TAC_CACHE_INSTANCE was created to handle caching of overview data and/or default period of details view data for specific TAC instance. If no instance provided, the program will stop with an error.
    • A job should be schedule for different variants of the program with prefill Instance Id and/or flag for caching default period of details.
    • The program will cache data which is selected in configuration of the instance. In case there’s a change of configuration, the next run of program, or job will validate the cache.
    • The program will only refresh data (getting new data), if it is invalid (according to time range of data, for example, data for last 24 hours have a valid range of 1 hour starting from the time retrieved).
  • Behavior:
    • First run will be heavy, as there’s no data.
    • Subsequent runs may be faster, as there’s less data to update.
  • When TAC dashboard runs:
    • First try to check if runtime cache is used.
      • If runtime cache is not used, try to access background cache.
        • If no data in background cache, try to retrieve new data.
        • Else use data in background cache.
      • If runtime cache is used, try to see if any valid data in runtime cache.
        • If no, check background cache.
          • If no data in background cache, try to retrieve new data.
          • Else use data in background cache, and store these data in runtime cache.
        • Else, use data in runtime cache.
