1. Objectives

This article explains how to use the OCC TEST data provider.

2. Supported Renderer

The TEST data provider supports this following renderers :

  • Line Chart
  • Pie Chart
  • Donut Chart
  • Line-Column Chart
  • Dual Line Chart
  • Dual Line-Column
  • Dual Bar-Column
  • Stack Bar Chart
  • Stack Column Chart
  • Stack Column Chart2Label

  • Dynamic Table 

Here is an example of a displayed data using the TEST data provider and the dynamic table render type :

3. How to configure a gadget with the TEST data provider

The DP TEST has 2 tabs for attributes:

  • Parameters
  • Metric

In order to use the /STDF/DP_TEST data provider, we have to proceed like shown below:

  • Select a render type
  • Select the TEST data provider. (1)
  • Select Parameters tab and then select a project, a wave and test cases from the list of the available ones. (2,3,4 and 5)
  • Select Metric tab and chose one from the existing list. (6)

In the metrics Tab, we have five metrics : 

Automation Rate : Number of automatic tests/ total number of tests.
Test Coverage : Number of tests with status “tested ok” / total number of tests.
Test Execution : Number of test executions
Automatic Test Execution : Number of automatic test executions
Number of test cases : Number of test cases

PS: 

The list of waves are returned after selecting a project

The list of tests plans are returned after selecting a wave

4. How to validate

5.1 Test Coverage

In order to validate this metric :

1. Firstly,Use the transaction SM_workcenter.

2. Secondly,Enter the tab Focused Build Test Manager

3. Finally, enter the tab Test Suite Dashboard. 

Then we need to choose the same project,wave and test plan as we we did in order to configure the gadget in the OCC dashboard. 

Go to the thab Test Execution Status


Test Coverage : Number of tests with status “tested ok” / total number of testes.

Test Coverage = 1/8 = 0.125 = 12.5 %

5.2 Number of test cases

In order to validate this metric :

1. Firstly,Use the transaction SM_workcenter.

2. Secondly,Enter the tab Focused Build Test Manager

3. Finally, enter the tab Test Suite Dashboard. 

Then we need to choose the same project,wave and test plan as we we did in order to configure the gadget in the OCC dashboard. 

Go to the tab Test Execution Status by Test Plans


Number of test cases = 1+1+6 = 8
