Check: Pinged HTTP port is properly configured


  • Access Alerting Directory Browser: [http://solman_host:solman_port/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/wda_ac_dir_browser?sap-language=EN
  • Select Managed Object on the left menu
  • Select metric System Http Availability
  • Select tab Data Collection
  • Check that HTTP port to ping is correct
  • Select the tab Other
  • Write down "Metric Id" and "Managed Object Id"
  • Start SMD Agent Admin console: [http://solman_host:solman_port/smd/AgentAdmin|]
  • Select tab Application Configuration
  • Select application
  • Select resource MAI/MetricCollectionDefinition.xml
  • Select SMD Agent host (agent responsible to ping the system)
  • Download the custom XML file
  • With the help of "Metric Id" (metricTypeId) and "Managed Object Id" (contextID) retrieved above, locate the metric configuration in the XML file
  • Check that HTTP port is correct

  • For Technical System: Solution Manager Setup -> Managed System Configuration -> Select SID -> Enter System Parameters -> Load Balancer host and port
  •  For Technical Instance: Solution Manager Setup -> Managed System Configuration -> Select SID -> Enter Landscape Parameter -> Instance


  • SMD Agent logs are located in SMD Agent Admin consol, tab "Agent Log Viewer"

  • In case of a cluster (technical system installed on more than one host), the SMD Agent responsible to ping the Technical System is indicated in Diagnostics Control Center (Work Center Solution Manager Administration --> Infrastructure –> Framework –> Agent Framework --> Configuration –> check the SMD Agent with role Technical System)
