Purpose

This page aims to introduce the new functionality of Excel Export/Import process for Shopping Carts.

Overview

As part of the Customer Connection Program, this function will enable to export the Shopping Cart as an Excel file. You can edit the Shopping Cart data offline, and import the changed file to the Shopping Cart screen. For Shopping Carts that contain more data, depending on your system settings, export and import can be executed as a background process.

Customizing

The functionality has been introduced with the Support Packages SRM 714 06, SRM 713 14 or SRM 712 19. If your SAP SRM release is listed above but you are in a lower support pack, you can implement the following notes in the order mentioned below:

2430590 - DDIC Note for D10821 shopping cart excel upload download functionality
2407629 - Switch Definition: Shopping cart Export import functionality
2340642 - Interface Note: Shopping cart excel upload download functionality
2448515 - Report for table entries BBPC_UP_DOWNLOAD
2443579 - Improvement note: Shopping cart Export Import functionality

In case your SRM system is on or above the Support Packages SRM 714 06, SRM 713 14 or SRM 712 19 you will only have to activate the customizing switch 'Activate/Deactivate Export and Import of Shopping Cart' (SRM_702_EXCEL_EXP_IMP_SHP). In order to activate the switch, please follow the manual instructions of the OSS 2443579.

Process of the Shopping Cart "Export" and "Import" feature

Login to the SRM Portal or NetWeaver Business Client (NWBC) with the strategic purchaser, operational purchaser or employee role. Go to the “Purchasing” area. Choose “Shopping cart”.
Among the header buttons, "Export" and "Import" will appear. The new functionality is available on the Professional Shopping Cart screen for those users with Activity "OPP", configured at role level in object BBP_ROLE.

Create a Shopping Cart with or without items and click on "Export". Shopping Cart item data such as item details, longtexts, partners, tax data, account assignment, etc. will be exported in a MS Excel file. Header and item details are available as separate tabs in the Excel file. You can drill down to the item substructures with the help of the "+" buttons.

Change the Excel data and upload it by clicking on "Import".

The functionality takes the Shopping Cart GUID as reference value, so exporting from a Shopping Cart and importing the Excel data to another SC-instance is currently not possible. You can leverage the functionality within the same Shopping Cart instance.

Background processing

This feature can be executed in background in case your system has threshold values defined for background processing. You can setup the threshold value under the SPRO customizing node: SRM Server > Cross-Application Basic Settings > Background Processing > Define Threshold Value for Background Processing.
The background processing of Shopping Carts happens through the report BBP_SC_BACKGROUND_PROC. In case the number of items in a Shopping cart passes above the threshold maintained in your SPRO settings, the "Export" action will trigger a background process automatically. The end-user is informed about the process and receives the Excel file by e-mail.
