Different Customer Scenarios;

  1. Customers have no access to SAP OSS and SAP Service Market Place.
  2. Customers have access to SAP OSS and SAP Service Market Place but do not want automatic download
  3. Customers have access to SAP OSS and SAP Service Market Place and want to setup automatic download

How do we support customers in different scenarios?

Scenario 1: Customers have no access to SAP OSS and SAP Service Market Place

Scenario 2: Customers have access to SAP OSS and SAP Service Market Place but do not want automatic download

  • Maintain S-User and Password in SAP Solution Manager with download authorizations from Service Market Place. This information in maintained in Solution Manager Configuration work center -> Specify Connectivity Data. SAP-OSS connection is then created.
  • Maintain Proxy Settings
  • In transaction STRUST, you have registered the following certificates for the SSL Client SSL Client (Standard) server

Scenario 3: Customers have access to SAP OSS and SAP Service Market Place and want to set up automatic download

  • Maintain S-User and Password in SAP Solution Manager with download authorizations from Service Market Place. This information in maintained in Solution Manager Configuration work center -> Specify Connectivity Data. SAP-OSS connection is then created.
  • Maintain Proxy Settings in SICF
  • In transaction STRUST, you have registered the certificates for the SSL Client SSL Client (Standard) server
  • Check the setting "Automatic Download of new content" in Solution Manager Configuration -> Basic Configuration -> Configure Manually -> Configuration for Rapid Content Delivery to download the ST-CONT Support Packages automatically from Service Market Place.

Some information:

  1. Jobs as part of content delivery;
    1. Job SM:RCD_CHECK_UPDATES is created as part of Solution Manager configuration (Basic Configuration -> Configure Automatically -> Schedule Sol. Manager Background Jobs)
    2. Job “SM: CSU_DOWNLOAD_DELIVERY” is a background job created manually to download delivery versions from Service Market Place. It is run each time the “Download” button is clicked in Rapid Content delivery application.
    3. Job “SM: CSU_IMPORT_CONTENTS” is a background job created manually whenever there is a request from content applications or when the import button is clicked to import the latest content into the application tables from Rapid Content Delivery
  1. Monitoring and Alerting Infrastructure (MAI) and Guided Procedure (GP) applications have their own import step which gets the latest content from Rapid Content Delivery. Customer Usage Provisioning (CUP) content is imported in the Rapid Content Delivery application itself.
