SAP Plant Maintenance Day of Sharing - Learn, Share and Collaborate

For sometime now we've met as a SAP Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) Community in Calgary on an informal basis to share, learn and stay connected with each other.
There is no charge for this SAP Community Network (SCN) SAP Inside Track Event that is focused on SAP Enterprise Asset Management.

Our next meetup is scheduled for Thursday May 31st  in Calgary and it is intended to bring this community together following the March SAP Centric EAM 2012 event in San Antonio. This session will also provide a great opportunity for SAP EAM information sharing and knowledge transfer, it is also a great opportunity to share and reflect on some of the key learnings from SAP Centric EAM 2012.

The morning session of the meeting will run from 8:45 am to 12 pm, followed by lunch will be provided for attendees starting at 12:00 pm and the afternoon session will run from 1:00 pm to 4:30 pm.

** Please note that attendees are welcome to attend both the morning and afternoon sessions or to chose to attend only the morning or the afternoon session ( all attendees are welcome to attend "Lunch and Networking " from 12 pm to 1 pm).

We hope to see you at this event for what should be an ideal venue to meetup with fellow members of the local SAP EAM Community and to meet with other SAP EAM experts from SAP, Partners and other SAP Customers.

SAP Linear Asset Management Deep Dive – Kevin Morrow, SAP
- 3 Hour Session
With the availability of Enhancement Package 5 SAP Enterprise Asset Management is now even more capable of handling Linear Assets. This session provides an overview of the capabilities for the handling of linear assets in SAP using our Linear Asset Management (LAM) functions provided with enhancement package 5 of ECC 6.0, and an insight into further enhancements coming with Enhancement Package 6. You will gather knowledge of the functionality of these enhancements as well as the system configuration information. Linear Assets typically go hand in hand with GIS. We will explore SAP GIS strategy for integrating LAM with Geospatial data.

Discover the Treasure in your SAP EAM Solution with VDM Inside -   John Holmes, Mainnovation
Maintenance managers across industries are forced to improve their business. In the increasingly competitive market the maintenance department needs to add more value to the overall company results. Fortunately, many maintenance organizations contain a value potential that has not yet been realized. But where is this value treasure hidden and how can it be revealed? Should you focus on uptime or on cost reduction? And how important is safety, health & environment with respect to value creation? Questions that can only be answered with the right maintenance and reliability information. Although this information is often captured in systems like SAP EAM, it is rarely used to steer maintenance performance. VDM Inside is a new and innovative KPI Dashboard that is built in SAP BusinessObjects technology and is fully integrated with SAP EAM. It uses more than 100 key performance indicators, graphs and drill down analyses and is based on the successful Value Driven Maintenance® (VDM) methodology from Mainnovation Inc.

SAP EAM Nuggets of Gold - Hidden Gems - Kevin Morrow, SAP
Many new functions have been added to EAM with the implementation of enhancements packages. Many customers are not aware of these functions or how to enable them. This presentation will provide a brief overview of how to find this new functionality and detail some of the more useful “nuggets of gold” that can be found when prospecting in the land of enhancements.

Framework for Achieving Total Enterprise Asset Management – Terry Wireman, Vesta Partners
Many companies are beginning to take a hard look at true asset management. With the developing acceptance of PAS-55 and the proposed ISO-55000 standard, guidelines are being developed for a system of management processes to properly manage a company’s assets. How do these standards (and proposed) standards apply to Enterprise Asset Management (EAM)? What would be involved in a framework to achieve EAM? This presentation will explore these questions and also focus on how maintenance and reliability play a key role in achieving EAM.
