SAP Inside Track Manchester 2013 is coming soon. It will be the first SAP Inside Track event to be held in Manchester, the home of computing and the industrial revolution.

Register for Free here: http://sitman.eventbrite.co.uk/

Introduction

This is a great opportunity to spend the weekend in this great city, and like at other SAP Inside Track events, you can connect with your peers, learn from each each other, share experiences and be inspired by great talks.

The conference language will be Mancunian, which of course is also known as English (smile)

Expect talks and live sessions from SAP experts working at SAP Customers and Partners with the usual hot topic of HANA, Mobility and Cloud being discussed.

We also have a special treat at the end of the day when folks from the local craft beer shop The Beermoth will talk about Hops, Yeast, Barley and Malt with some extensive tasting of the products.

When

Saturday 14th September 2013 from 0900 to 1700

Where

Mercure Hotel Manchester Piccadilly
Portland St
Manchester
M1 4PH

This hotel is in the centre of Manchester and is easily reached from either of the two main train stations Piccadilly or Victoria. There is a rail service directly from Manchester Airport to Piccadilly station.

Timetable

Please note this timetable is provisional and may change.

Sessions

The sessions are what an SAP Inside Track event is all about. Come and take the stage and share your experiences, knowledge and passion. Talk about something that interests you, something you have done recently, your SAP TechEd experiences and ignite a two-way discussion that benefits all participants.

Please enter your session proposals below, and nearer the time, we will organise them into appropriate time slots. Thanks!

HANA XS + OData + SAPUI5 = Developer Nirvana?

HANA isn't just about columnar storage, in-memory technology, and lightning fast speed. Oh no. With Extended Application Services, aka "XS", HANA gives you the developer a powerful one stop shop platform for building your app backend. Platform-as-a-Service? Check! Building with JavaScript on the server side as well as the client side? Check! Using OData as the synthetic oil to smoothly enable your data consumption? Check! This session examines the combinatorial power of SAP HANA XS, OData, and SAPUI5. You don't just add them together, you raise each to the next one's power!

How to make your Customer/SI engagement less disfunctional

This will be a two person presentation, an end-user and a consultant from an SI. Talking about our experiences of what has made good engagements great and bad engagements painful. No pulled punches, just a lot of honesty and hopefully pointers on how to help yourselves, your company's and your projects

Rapid application develoment with SAP HANA Cloud

Most of the times you as a developer simply want to see an up-and-running piece of code to re-use it for your own purpose. Ideally you would like to have a ready made application that you can re-use, but of course this is just a dream you have. This session will show you how to make this dream come true and get up-to-speed with some of the SAP HANA Cloud services much faster than before.

A different approach to SAP Mobility using the Neptune Application Designer

I will introduce the SAP integrated Add-On and report some experiences from developing mobile add-ons for solutions of my former company and our customers. I also would like to show how to build a mobile application from scratch and  present the integration of sapui5 into the Neptune Application Designer: No oData, no Javascript required, just drag & drop.

Design Thinking, Consumer IT and Mobile - wait, what just happened?

A look into how consumer IT has completely changed the face of enterprise mobility and why we must not be afraid to tackle this challenge head on!

SAP BPM & Mobile... Can we? Should we? Have we?

A roundtable session discussing the relationship between BPM and mobility, looking at opportunities, challenges and hopefully gaining insight into success stories from other attendees.  Definitely more of a knowledge sharing session and discussion, rather than me boring you all with death by powerpoint :)  I see numerous challenges for integrating current BPM and mobile solutions but the future looks brighter.

Mobility at a high tech manufacturer

Say you want to mobilize service management functionality to field service engineers - how hard can that be?
But:
- what if SAP continuously changes its mind
- what if the engineers already built their own solution
- what if business management is not interested
- what if you have outdated SAP systems
- ...
A fairytale of a solution architect that tries to bring relief to field service engineers. What solution is being realized, how did he get so far and now what.
