SITKIDS

We'll have a kids program for Saturday only! Please note that the kids day will be all day long. This is an add-on to the regular SITWDF event, no program for kids only. Participation is for kids of SITWDF participants and helpers only and limited to ~40 kids. Our focus group are kids in the age 8 - 14.

Be aware: The SIT Kids participation fee is 5€ per kid. The participation fee will be used for arts and craft materials in the SIT Kids projects. Please pay in cash during onsite registration.

Planned agenda: session of 2 hours in the morning and after lunch. After the afternoon session, kids can optionally prepare for a presentation of their results to the SITWDF participants.

Planned activities:

  • Snap! This is a 2 hour workshop
  • Robots & Hardware: introduction to the robots is given twice during each 2 hour session, however kids can freely change anytime. We might not have adult coverage of all hardware all the time. Kids are encouraged to work in teams.
We probably have the following stuff:
  • Chillout area with regular toys and games. Please ask your kids to bring toys or games to play with other kids.

Agenda for SITKIDS runs in parallel with SITWDF:

  • 9:00 Kids join the Welcome note with SITWDF participants. We will guide the kids to the workshop rooms after a few minutes – the english introduction to SITWDF is boring for them.
  • 9.xx-12:00 Activities (as listed  above) and Snap! Programming workshop
  • 12:00-13:30 Lunch and group picture
  • 13:30-15:30 Activities (as listed  above) and Snap! Programming workshop
  • 15:30-16:00 Pack stuff and prepare for SIT-Kids presentation / break
  • 16:00-17:00 SITKIDS presentation, tribute to the speakers and final words

Costs

Participation fee for adults is 10€. This includes drinks during the event and lunch.

The costs for pre- and/or post-conference events are not included. (Everybody pays his own drinks & food)
