Practice - Relax – ReactivateCan’t concentrate anymore? Feel tired and tensed up during your working day? Stressed out while attending an event? Learn different solutions from the variety of activity, relaxation and meditation.
Andre FischerIntroduction into SAP Cloud Platform ABAP Environment and the ABAP RESTful Programming ModelIn my session I will provide an introduction into the new SAP Cloud Platform ABAP Environment which is available since summer last year.
In addition you will get an overview of the latest developments of the ABAP RESTful programming model that allows to build SAP HANA‒optimized SAP Fiori apps based on ABAP also in SAP CP.

Vitaliy RudnytskiyThe Rise of Multi-model DatabasesToday organizations must handle many different types of data in various structures and formats – JSON documents, graph, spatial, time series, relational etc - to support a variety of use cases and workloads. Multi-model seems to be a natural step in the evolution of databases. The term "multi-model" – first used by Luca Garulli in his keynote at NoSQL Matters Conference in 2012 – describes an approach designed to support multiple data models against a single, integrated backend. In this talk we will look at two implementations as examples: a true multi-model built from ground up, and a relational DBMS extended into multi-model.
Tobias HofmannCreating apps with UI5I will share some of my lessons learned while creating UI5 apps. These apps are used outside a SAP context: JSON backend, ElasticSearch, etc. I will demo some of my UI5 apps (wake on lan, cognitive leave request, speech analytics, learning assets, ...) I will show how a CI pipeline can be used for UI5 apps to automate app building, analysis and deploy: a lot of tips on how to write unit and e2e tests for UI5 apps as well as how to get 100% code coverage and trust in your pipeline.
Twan van den BroekWhat can you achieve in only 5 days with SAPRapid Prototyping to the max. Our Mobile Innovation Lab realized some great results in pressure cooking sessions with customers. In this talk Twan will share some results with live demos, explain the concept and how you can start your own rapid prototyping week.
Bart van de Kamp (preso Moltzer & Harenters Lemen Werkman)How SAP Leonardo is empowering animal wellbeingNext to supplying Water to end-customers, the European Bison (Wisent) is also one of the ‘biggest’ responsibilities of PWN. Besides being the 2nd biggest water company in the Netherlands they also maintain two National Parks including the animals living in it. This specific client case is inspired on a hackathon organized by PWN. One of the questions remained was how all data possibly generated from their National Park could be leveraged in SAP and how to analyze and transform it to actual value. This session shows how SAP Leonardo can enable a solution using IOT and UI5 to analyze and improve the wellbeing of the European Bisons. <<Same case has been presented during the SIT NL 2018, slides https://sitnl2018-p1943012616trial.dispatcher.hanatrial.ondemand.com/assets/pdf/wisenture-pitch.pdf>>

Hitchhikers Guide to SAP NetWeaver SAP goes Cloud, SAP Analytics Cloud, Cloud for Applications, SaaS, PaaS, HaaS, etc, etc. Since several Years everyone talks about the digital transformation and the intelligent enterprise into the Cloud, but the most of our SAP Customers running their mission critial system still „on-premise“. With this Presentation we take a step back to give a glimse of the SAP NetWeaver evolution, of course without kubernetics, containers, block chains, IoT but everything on the foundation for the countless ABAP Programmers. See also the wise and not so wise decission of the past 1 ½ decades in the SAP history of the SAP Application Platform whith a twinkle in the eye.SAP First GuidanceRelated SCN Blog - SL for BW(/4)
Roland KramerEasy Install of SAP IQ databaseCreating a SAP IQ can be as easy as filling three values in a little HTML page. Since the acquisition of the Sybase company in 2013, the SAP Application Portfolio was enhanced with the most modern and reliable database, event streaming and replication technology at all time. Nevertheless, the implementation of the „real big data storage“ called IQ was never in the priority of the SAP automation efforts. With this Presentation you will see, how everyone can create a SAP IQ database based on the SAP Host Agent interface to support all kind of solutions like SAP-NLS, native IQ solutions, or multi temperature concept for BW/4HANA.SAP First Guidance

Volker StöfflerSAP IQ - Business Intelligence and vertical data processing with 16 GB RAM or lessSAP IQ is a HANA companion for SDA / SDI and SAP BW NLS, to keep data way beyond memory limits accessible. But it also is a full-blown data warehouse system of its own, with column oriented data storage and powerful analytics capabilities. It can scale up to the world's largest data warehouse and down to desktop or notebook computers. This session is intended to show the benefits and capabilities of the vertical data structures used inside and their impact on high performance processing and parallel execution of Business Intelligence style queries.SQL, SAP IQ, database, data warehouse, business intelligence, world record, petabytes

Volker Stöffler The Competitive Advantage of Cooperation - Why Nice Guys (should) Finish First

This is a non-technical presentation based upon texts published by Robert Axelrod and Richard Dawkins.

Social Darwinism is widely considered a toxic term these days, and it is so for very good reasons. But there are observations from evolution that we can learn from and benefit for our teams, communities or even society. Dawkins, one of the most renowned contemporary advocates of Darwinism and Evolutionary Biology, has dedicated a BBC documentary and a chapter in his first book "The Selfish Gene" to the subject. In recent editions, he references Axelrod who provides a mathematical foundation for Dawkins' conclusions using game theory.

This session is about the benefits of and prerequisites for cooperative behavior, the answer to "who are the fittest?" in "Survival of the Fittest", the ratio of effort and gain in competition, the characteristics of non-zero-sum games ("win-win-situation") and the role of diversity therein.

Anusha Choory BalajiSAP Leonardo IoT Usecase Debrief - Experimenting with model deployment scenarios

This presentation would,

(a)  Highlight and elaborate on a specific SAP Leonardo IoT use case – “Transforming the Commercial Fishing Industry via IoT” and

(b)  Provide a short demo of model deployment techniques using different frameworks.

The talk is based on a winning entry from an open SAP IoT Ideation Challenge conducted in November 2018. The presentation would include details on the formation of the IoT idea for the commercial fishing industry, sophisticated edge devices involved, smart data capture, fusion of different sensor generated data from diverse platforms, and its subsequent integration with business data, including provisioning of a feedback loop for continuous improvement. The presentation thereby aims to highlight how this idea (topic), supports the concept of the Intelligent Enterprise. The presentation would also cover some of the related and innovative use cases where SAP is making use of cutting-edge technology from SAP Leonardo. Though the practical implementation of the end-to-end scenario would typically involve a myriad of technologies/systems in action, the scope of this talk is to segue into a deep-dive in one of the facets of IoT and machine learning use case demonstration i.e., current trends in predictive model deployment.

Krasimir SemerdzhievPractical experience with Kubernetes, Istio and Knative - dos and don'ts As part of working on open source project Kyma as well as the SAP Cloud Platform Extension factory which is based on it - we've gathered quite some experience working with Kubernetes and Istio. We've also had to contribute a few pieces to Knative, where it was really beneficial to see how concepts are born, die and are redone better in the course of the discussions in the wider developer community. We'd like to share that experience to make sure that you don't fall in the same pitfalls and make the same mistakes like us.

Volker Stöffler How to visualize Query Semantics using Open Source Graphviz

When analyzing the performance of complex queries, you may find yourself with multi table joins, e.g. generated by a BI system, coded by an out-of-reach developer or evolved through a long life cycle. A semantic query graph visualizes the topology of such a join and helps to understand the options the optimizer has at hand for an execution plan. The graph unveils possible shortcuts or extensions you can provide to enhance query performance by providing additional options to the query optimizer.

I will demonstrate how to use the Open Source utility Graphviz for visualization.

This presentation is based upon ANSI Standard SQL and not restricted to a specific RDBMS implementation. The method is a generic approach to deal with the challenge of understanding and possibly enhancing the topology of a multi table join query.

Together, we'll take a peek at the inner workings of the product, and gain a better understanding of CPI along the way.
Ingo Bräuninger, Thomas FiedlerCustom Code Migration to S4HANAOne of the biggest challenges for our customers during the system conversion to S/4HANA (or Suite on HANA) on-premise is the custom code adaptation. These adaptations are necessary because of the simplifications (e.g. data model changes, removal of obsolete functionality, removal of redundant components) in S/4HANA compared to the classic ERP. To minimize the efforts for our customers to adapt their code the ABAP Platform provides tools to analyze custom code based on the so-called simplification database.

This toolset is crucial for the adoption of S/4HANA on-premise.

Domain-driven design, ABAP and SAP Cloud Platform

Inspired by the #sitNL talk 'How Domain-Driven Design can help you to become a better developer' by Fred Verheul, we would like to share some experience in learning and applying Domain-driven design (DDD) around SAP environments both in the cloud (using the S/4HANA Cloud SDK) and on-premise (ABAP Programming Model for SAP Fiori).

Madhumitha PadmakumarS4 HANA Automated Code transformationAs we all know, the Suite on Hana brings in a rich set of advantages in terms of technical aspects like storage, speed and performance, as well as functional aspects like optimized business processes and advanced user interfaces. But the path to this haven has come with its own stakes – Custom code adaptation. There is a lot to be taken into consideration including Hana code compliance, data compatibility, obsolete objects management, performance, etc. This presentation explains how to get through these stages with automation, bringing down the repetitive and mechanical steps to be taken by the technical consultant to almost null.
