Q: Can Sybase Field service mobile applications replace SAP MAM solution?

A: No, MAM (Mobile Asset Management) mobilizes ECC EAM/PM where as SAP Field Service works with SAP CRM Service as the back-end data.

Q: Are these apps available for SAP B1?

A: No. These applications are available for SAP Business Suite Only

Q: Is Mobile Field Service only able to connect with SAP CRM and how does it compare to Work Order Mobile?

A: Yes, SAP Field Service connects to SAP CRM Service to make CRM service orders available on mobile devices. The EAM Work Order mobile app to be released in September 2011 will connect to ECC EAM for SAP work orders.

Q: Is the service app available in BlackBerry now? If not in which version will it be released?

A: BlackBerry support is under discussion and not committed to on the roadmap yet.

Q: Will the Field Service engineer/ tech be able to enter products in Serv Conf that may not have been planned in the Service Order?

A: Yes, the relevant products will be downloaded to the mobile device. The field engineer will be able to enter new items on the service confirmation. 

Q: Is this application compatible with Android OS?

A: No, Android support is coming in the future.

 Q: How does SUP manage multiple record changes by different clients? Will the record be locked?

A: The record is not locked but concurrent updates to the same record are handled by the conflict resolution rules in DOE.

Q: In Mobile Sales, are the reports created on the device? Or is this information pushed as an image/html from the server?

A: In CRM Sales app, the data to generate the reports are pushed from the server. However, the charts and graphs are generated on the device.

Q: Are there any version restriction on SAP ECC for deploying these apps?

A: There are no version restrictions on SAP ECC. SAP Field Service requires SAP CRM Service 7.0 EhP1.
