I work in the SAP NetWeaver EIM TREX team. I have been in TREX since 2003. I joined SAP in January 1999 and worked at first in Active Global Support, where I prepared training materials for SAP University and became a certified support engineer. In TREX, I have focused on the SAP NetWeaver Business Intelligence Accelerator. My SAP Press Essentials book on the BI Accelerator is scheduled for publication in Janaury 2009.
I hold four degrees in philosophy, three from Oxford and one from London. I wrote theses on the logic of probability theory, truth and provability in arithmetic and set theory, and formal semantic theory for a constructivist epistemology. I published a science-fiction novel called Lifeball in 1996 and a book of studies on the science of consciousness in 2004.
From 1976 to 1987, I worked as a tutor in logic and philosophy in Oxford, as an administrator in London, as a teacher of English in Japan, and as a teacher of mathematics and physics in London. From 1987 to 1998, I worked as an editor at Springer-Verlag in Heidelberg, where I focused on computer science books.
